About Shared Data We never share your data with anyone.

About Stored Data All data is stored with high-grade encryption; neither local engineers nor physical intruders can access user data.

About Private Chats All conversations and calls in private chats use end-to-end encryption. This means all data is known only to you and your chat partner. For us or anyone else, without direct access to your device, the content of these messages cannot be known. We do not keep your private chat history on our servers, nor do we keep any message logs in private chats, so we cannot know to whom you send messages via secret chat or when.

About Files in Private Chats When you send photos, videos, or files via 08, each item is encrypted with a separate key unknown to the server before sending, and the key is also sent to your chat partner, who can download and decrypt the file. Technically, the file resides on one of 08's servers, looking like random, indecipherable garbage. Apart from you and your chat partner, we do not know what this random data represents, nor which specific chat file it belongs to.

Contacts Before syncing your contacts, we will ask for your consent. We do not store any other data about your contacts.

Deleting Information Everything you delete will be permanently deleted.
